More Bounty With Less Effort: Permaculture Techniques

Dr. Chad Hellwinckel--UT assistant professor, agricultural researcher, and founder of the Knoxville Permaculture Guild--will lead this overview of various permaculture techniques that can be used to create sustainable gardens, urban agriculture, and farms.

Chad will share the philosophy of permaculture which is a way of gardening and gardening design that works with nature rather than against it--minimizing waste and the amount of human resources and energy from the earth to produce the maximum amount of produce. He explains how the use of permaculture principles can make local food systems sustainable and competitive with other forms of agricultural methods.
